UNIT SIZES:
If you're just wanting to store odds and ends, our smaller 10 foot sized containers can hold around 600 cubic feet of contents, ample for a studio flat, de clutters or up to a one bedroom property worth. We've actually just got a new range of 10 foot mini containers in stock now which hold smaller volumes of contents as well as mini 9 foot units.
The height of a shipping container is just over eight feet, its width being also eight feet. Sometimes we have containers available which are approximately nine-and-a-half feet high. This height difference equates to a significant additional volume.
If you're stuck as which size you need, just give us a call for help, but we've a table below which clarifies.
If you are struggling to obtain a removals company or van hire, why not check our removals page out with handy advice on the subject.
- A small one bedroom flat should fit into our 10 foot container units - our half size units.
- An average sized three bedroom house should fit into a 20 foot shipping container - our standard size units.
- A four bedroom property should fit into our "hi cube" container unit - our jumbo sized unit.

When deciding which self storage facility to use, how can you make an informed decision? How do you pick the right one?
Firstly, ask yourself how long the operator has been established business for. Is it long established?
We pride ourselves in operating since the 1990's and now consider ourselves to be firmly established within the regional self storage market.
Secondly, consider the following questions :
1) Does the storage operator own their own sites - this is quite important, because an operator that owns their site could be in a far stronger financial position and thus able to pass on better discounts and prices while at the same time offering stability. Especially during current times!
2) Is the operator there for the 'long term' - take a look by booking an appointment and ask yourself does it have the look and feel of a business that is here to stay for the long term, i.e. is there a landline telephone number, are the location(s) cared and well maintained, neat and attractive, demonstrating a well cared for and professionally run business?
3) Are the storage units new, clean and well maintained and in excellent order capable of storing all types of valuable posessions, ie. your furniture and belongings in a dry environment.
4) Does the site offer 24 hour access - this is important, as you may find it attractive (and possibly VITAL) to access your belongings at 5am on a Sunday morning! More questions and answers about this here.
5) Is the storage operators site secure - now this may seem like a daft question, but ours has numerous lockable gates, well cared for security metal fencing complete with razor wire installation as well as modern CCTV monitoring to ensure the site operates exactly as intended.
6) Is the site clean and floodlit? - If you're needing access at 11pm at night, the last thing you want is to be finding it difficult navigating your way around the site in total darkness - We for example have automatic flood lights and emergency lighting for your comfort. Our sites are clean and uncluttered.
7) Does the storage operator have an easily to find location - again, this might seem daft, but to have a city centre location, we believe, is important. There easy to locate and being in a city centre makes it easy for you and perhaps your removal drivers to locate also. A five mile drive out of town could be totally out of the question and time consuming if you have to do this on a daily or weekly basis, and more so for your furniture removals company.
8) Are your storage operators units on the ground floor easy to access - check out our site to see for yourself! Having the benefit of ground floor entry means you don't have to haul your items up lifts or staircases. With us, you can drive your car, van or lorry right up to your storage unit on good ground, not getting bogged down.
✓ We tick all these boxes!
